Clean Sweep!

Three weekends ago(February 20) we went and cleaned a house! They (The Hilliards) are running low on space in the house and needed some organizational help, which of course we we're stoked to help anyway possible! We did everything from folding laundry to scrubbing the bathroom to cleaning dishes, we even put sheets on the little girls beds. You can see Kerri Davis in the picture above reading some stories to entertain while we finished up! They are a sweet family who is just seeking to grow with the Lord. We first came in contact with them through the fish after they advertised our ministry! We recieved their email a few months ago, but God has just been sending us so many projects that we were trying to fit everything in! After we visited them they sent us the sweetest email:

We were so blessed to have had such a wonderful group of young adults in our home today. Your caring, and thoughtfulness made such an impression on me, Randy and the girls. We are trying our hardest to raise Godly girls and you girls were a perfect example of what we strive for. The young men in your group also set an example of how Godly young men should act. Living in a city like Atlanta where Godliness is not always evident, you young adults brought a refreshing glimpse of what we are seeking to teach our children to be like! Your respect for each other, manners, and love for OUR LORD truly brought a blessing to me. THANK YOU!

With the food you brought I was able to do some "ahead cooking" so that on Sundays we have food ready to put in the microwave, as we dont like to do house work or cooking. Now I have a freezer full of spaghetti, vegetable turkey soup, and tacos.

The housework you did was amazing, and as thankful for that as I am, I am so much more thankful to know that we share a faith and that you are my brothers and sisters. I don't even know the words to express how much you guys touched me and my family.

Please keep praying for us and especially Megan as she is struggling to find a reason to believe in our God.

Melissa

It is awesome how God has been providing and we have some really exciting projects coming up these next few months!

So be on the look out because we want YOU involved! Thank you for all the support and next time we wont wait so long to keep you updated!

Consuelo center.

Consuelo means HOPE in spanish:)

Today we went to the Hope Center and cleaned! They don't have a hired cleaning crew so the workers there have to clean everything themselves! They offer free pregnancy tests and free ultrasounds. They reach out to any age of girl or women of any race, from any different walk of life. We split up teams and finished in about an hour! Thanks to Santiago we had professional equipment to use and plenty of gloves to wear! They are moving to a new location soon and we are hoping to be able to help them with their move any way possible. They accepted us with arms wide open and we are very thankful to really get to help them out today! We then later went back to the assisted living and bowled with a few of our friends we made last time! Yes, we are trying to show the world the love of God but the fellowship and the lives that God has put together to walk down this path together is awesome. These are some amazing believers, and we are hoping to see it grow:) its awesome how He works like this:)

Bingo! Lets go to the Assisted Living!

Last saturday (January 30) we went to an assisted living and just hung out. We met some amazing people one of the prime examples is above Richard. He captured all of our hearts and he use to love to bowl so today we bought a plastic bowling kit and took it to him and bowled with him and everyone else who wanted to. We had a lot of fun and love going there! We all made special friends and even though sometimes they don't remember us when we go back but they enjoy us just as much as the first time we went. Our whole mission when we started this whole lifestyle/ministry was to make everything we did not just a one time deal and try and preach the gospel everytime we want to form relationships and get to know people and just love them.

We also stuck around longer and played BINGO with them! They absolutly loved it! We even got to bring some of the people from the Alzheimers unit and got them to play too!! One of the ladys (Ms. Joyce) won a game!

They even let LP call out the Bingo numbers all by himself!

(^Ms.Joyce playing BINGO)
After we were done playing and hanging out with all these awesome people we went back to the church and decided to "wipe the place down" just to show our appreciation of everything that they provide for us. Pastor Matt has always supported us and we are very greatful to have such a passionate and determined leader to look up to.

How many Christians does it take to start a pressure washer?

Today we helped out a single mom of two who is trying to sell her house with some yard work! She loves the Lord with all her heart and was eager for our help, it was truly a blessing to be able to help her family out. Plus I think some of us learned a lot about general yard work...such as..clipping hedges, spreading pine straw, and pressure washing her driveway/patio.

We all worked together as a team and got all the work done in about two hours! We even had a few new team members this time and hope to see their shining faces at our next opportunity to show Gods love to the community. We have had lots of support and are thankful for all God has given us thus far and as long as we keep our intentions focused on Him and we continue to let Him be in full control then there is nothing this ministry cannot do.

Adoption of Rose

Tonight we adopted an amazing litle girl to send money to her name is Rose. She is from Uganda and she will recieve 30 dollars of support from our group each month. We are hoping to also be able to send her gifts and just completely treat her as the princess all little girls should be treated as! We adopted her through a ministry called Holt International. http://www.holtinternational.org/ You can click the link to find out more about the organization. Basically it was started by a family The Holts who really wanted to help the children in Korea and this was back when adoption was not international so the family took it to court and made it legal for international adoption. Since that it has grown to help many children without parents. We will continue supporting Rose untill she is adopted or is too old for the program. She is a beautiful 7 year old girl who we are all eager to reach out to and simply show her the love of Christ.

Getting everything we CAN.

Today we went door to door to people in our community to gather canned goods, clothing, and botteled waters for the missionaries in Haiti. Every bit helps: we even had some people ask us to come back later to give more. We split up in three teams despite the weather conditions of the cold rain this way we could cover more ground.
<--Yes, we carried it in hand and walked the neighborhood.

Group 2-> did not have much success gathering from house to house so they opted out to buy their own donations to give to the people in Haiti.

On our way back to the car group three was nice enough to let us pile up ontop and give use a ride back to our car.

All in all today was a pretty good success being our first outing of showing the world our love for God and all. We are turning prayer lists into to-do lists.

So today on our day off(January 18) we packaged and labeled everything we collected. Each label we made we put an english and creolen version on there. We all felt like we all got a lot accomplished. We had boxes of clothing, jugs of water, and boxes of canned and boxed foods that are to be sent over to Haiti within the next few

weeks.

Jonny Day, one of our founding fathers has the opportunity to actually go to Haiti for a week and help with the disaster relief. (he is the boy in the blue middle). This is a huge growing and learning opportunity. God has really blessed our ministry and Jonny is an awesome canidate to be an example in Haiti for a ministry and simply just to represent as a Radical follower of Jesus Christ. Jonny will be going February 13-19th. He needs to raise about 1200 dollars. So please support Him with prayers and also if you feel lead to fund him you can email us at aministrythatrepaints@gmail.com. Remember to keep him in your prayers!

Today (January 23, 2010) We sent our collections to their final destination! Our Missions center at the church was not collecting the particular items we had so we found a Haitian church in Atlanta. They were so thankful for everything we gave (a whole 17 boxes)!! We are hopefully going to visit again with them soon they were so awesome! We deffinatly want to get to know this church more and deffinaly form a relationship with them!

What we're all about.

We are all about doing. We want to show the love of GOD to the WORLD. We are doers of the word; and re-painters of the world. We are compelled by Ephesians 5:1-2 which reads, "Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." We are turning prayer lists into to do lists.
